About

About TimePlace

We organize the world's information by time and place -- connecting people with what's happening around them, right now.

Our Story

The Mission

TimePlace is a San Francisco-based startup founded by former Microsoft and Silicon Valley technology veterans in early 2014. Led by CEO Ty Parker, the company set out to organize the world's information by time and place.

TimePlace launched at TechCrunch Disrupt SF 2014, debuting as a "Real World Browser" with a patent-pending time-slider search that lets users explore what's happening at any time and location. The platform has aggregated over 1 million events globally.

We started as a platform for discovering events and activities at a specific time and location. The core thesis: if you know where someone is and when they're there, you can connect them with exactly what they need.

Same platform. Same principle. Real-world connections, organized intelligently.

Who We Serve

Built for Three Audiences

Consumers

Discover and experience events, concerts, and activities at a specific time and location. Find trusted local service professionals for any project. Browse the real world.

Merchants & Brands

Reach consumers at the right time and place. Whether you're a musician looking for gigs, a service professional seeking clients, or a local business attracting foot traffic -- TimePlace puts you in front of the right people.

Developers

Build with time and location data at your fingertips. The TimePlace API provides structured, real-world context for applications that need to understand what's happening, where, and when.

Platform

How It Works

TimePlace is built on a modern, globally-distributed platform designed for speed and scale. Every query is served from infrastructure close to the user, so the real world responds in real time.

The platform is organized around time and location as first-class data — every event, place, and experience is contextualized by when and where. That's what makes the time-slider search work, and it's the same foundation that powers every TimePlace surface.

Globally Fast

Served from the edge of the network. Sub-second responses anywhere in the world.

Time + Location Native

Every piece of data has a when and a where. The platform understands both.

Data-Driven

Real-world signals flow in continuously. The platform stays fresh as the world changes.

API-First

Everything is an API. The platform is as accessible to developers as it is to end users.
